OMG! Miss World 2019 Coronation night, London..

OK! So for those who don't know, I organised a few trans pageants over the years "Miss Gay & Miss TS International" and "Miss Diamond Queen" so naturally I have a real interest in beauty pageants- before music re-ignited and took most, if not all, of my time away!
I was thrilled to attend the Miss World 2019 Coronation night at the London ExCel on Saturday December 14th. I was also very fortunate to bump into a couple, well a few, beauty queens. There was no shortage of beauties I can tell you that!

Meeting the reigning Miss World Philippines 2019 Michelle Dee and being able to have a sit down conversation with her and believe it or not being mistaken for her mother (not once but three times!) brought so much laughter to us both. Even more so as Michelle Dee is the daughter of Melanie Marquez who is actually Miss International 1979, so you can imagine the flattery.

I also managed to intentionally bump into Venezuelan model and Miss Universe 2013 winner Gabriela Isler at the bar who spoke fondly of her candidate Isabella RodrÃguez. Add into the mix Miss World 2013 beauty Megan Young and Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce in the hotel lobby it was pure bliss of Beauty Overload!

Michelle Dee was selected as one of the top 12 candidates out of 111 beautiful delegates so it was indeed a real achievement albeit she did not reach the top 5 cut. The lucky ladies to make the cut were: Toni-Ann Singh (Jamaica), Ophély Mézino (France), Suman Rao (India), ElÃs Miele Coelho (Brazil) and Nyekachi Douglas (Nigeria). Ultimately the Miss World 2019 crown went to Toni-Ann Singh (Jamaica) placing Ophély Mézino (France) as 1st Runner-up and Suman Rao (India) as 2nd Runner-up.
So what happened at the end of the night? Well I just went out to dinner, as one does, with Miss Eco Philippines 2019 Kelley Day who, let me tell you, is a bag of laughs- animated and full of life and I wish her all the very best in the Miss Eco grand finals 2020 in Egypt. Current Mr. World Jack Heslewood was invited to dinner and eager to join us but had other plans, ah well his loss.. 😂🤣😂🤣
